Fred Hyman Memorial Speaker Vice Admiral David Buss (USN-Ret)
Vice Admiral Buss is a native of Lancaster, Pa. and a U.S. Naval Academy graduate. As an aviator, he commanded one of the last squadrons of Grumman A-6 Intruder jets. Other assignments included commander of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis, served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, and directed strategy, planning and assessment in Baghdad, Iraq. Buss’ last job in the Navy was commander, Naval Air Forces, often shortened to “air boss.” He retired from the U.S. Navy in 2015 after 36 years of service.
